Affiliation Code for blocks with transfer zones

A code char is an array of four characters that is used to group blocks, define blocks as transfer areas, control dispatch behavior to trucks, or define the straddle exchange grid or area association. Code chars are configured in the General tab of the Stack Block form (on page 1).

When you set up code chars for blocks that have TZs, it is important that you assign a different affiliation character (code chars position 1, which controls the move completion logic) to each block and its associated TZ blocks.

In addition, although it is possible for multiple TZs to share the same block affiliation, TZs should not have the same affiliation character as the stowage block. N4 supports the ASCII character set, so enough characters should be available for this purpose. (If all blocks had the same affiliation with the stowage block, a long shuffle might get truncated if the container moves anywhere within the origin block due to rehandle, split move, or abort recovery.)
